Method 1: Basic Troubleshooting Methods

Follow these basic troubleshooting methods to resolve the reported issue.

1A. Restart your router

As a first step, check if your computer is connected to a stable network. Without an internet connection, you won't be able to enjoy PUBG without any bugs.

2. Update the router firmware.

3. Switch to an Ethernet cable and test your Internet connection.

4. Connect to cellular networks and check which connection is suitable for PUBG.

1C. Check external devices

If you didn't get any fix as a result of the above preliminary checks, it's time to check if there is any external damage to the external speakers, microphone, and other audio devices contributing to the error.

  • Check cables for loose connections and make sure all other cables are connected or not.
  • Make sure all other cables and cords are connected to the correct audio port.
  • Check volume levels and power on.

Method 2: Set the default audio device

If you are using an audio device such as headphones or speakers, you must check if it is set as the default device or not. Let's say you have an external monitor connected to your PC (no built-in speakers). If this monitor is set as the default output device, you will not be able to hear audio in PUBG. You have to set your audio device as the default device as mentioned below to fix PUBG sound issue on PC.

1. Right-click the Speakers icon in the lower right corner of the screen and select the Sounds option.

2. Then go to the Playback tab and right-click on the audio device you want to set as the default device.

The CPU cores are responsible for computer cache memory and memory handling in your computer. The overall performance of the CPU cores will be fully utilized if you can't hear PUBG properly. So in this case, you can change the proximity of the game as mentioned below.

1. Press the Ctrl + Shift + Esc keys at the same time to open the Task Manager.

2. Now go to the Details tab and track app usage details.

3. Now launch the Steam client and click on the "Play" button corresponding to the PUBG game in the "LIBRARY" tab.

4. Then switch to the Task Manager window and right-click TslGame.exe, then select the Set Affinity option as shown in the figure.

5. Then uncheck "All processors" and then check "CPU 0" as shown in the picture. Then click OK.

Note. Be sure to complete this process before launching the game.

7. If your game starts without problems, repeat steps 4 and 5, but in step 5, check the All processors box again.

However, if you encounter a problem, move on to the next method.

Method 7: Allow Audio Access for PUBG

Your computer has a list of applications and programs that will have access to use audio devices. If PUBG is not listed, you cannot hear any audio content contributing to the error in question. So make sure the sound settings are enabled for your game on your PC by following the steps below.

5. Repeat all these steps for other Windows services such as Windows Audio Endpoint Builder and Remote Procedure Call (RPC) and see if the issue is resolved.

Method 10Disable Sound Enhancements

If you find that your audio works well for other media but the audio seems low or noisy in PUBG, you are advised to change the sample rate. A low sample rate will cause the PUBG audio fix to not work, but you can choose a higher sample rate by following the steps below.

1. Right-click the Speakers icon in the lower right corner of the screen and select the Sounds option.

2. Then go to the Playback tab and select the audio device, and then click the Properties button as shown in the figure.

3. Then go to the Advanced tab and in the Default Format drop-down menu, make sure you have selected the highest frequency range (24 bits, 48,000 Hz).

Note. Make sure the "Disable Audio Enhancements" option is unchecked under "Signal Enhancements" as shown in the picture.

6. Click Apply and then OK to save your changes. Check if you are facing PUBG audio not working again. If so, adjust the different levels of frequency bands by repeating these steps and confirm which band solves the problem.

Method 11: Verify the Integrity of Game Files (on Steam)

We have seen many instances where game files are either missing, corrupted, or have incomplete installations. Users may also experience PUBG sound issue on PC if they are interrupted by the update process or if the game files are moved. In this method, you will open Steam and use the built-in game integrity checker. It will be replaced if the application finds something.

Note. You must follow the same steps if you are using other publishing software.

1. Open the Steam app on your computer and go to the Library tab at the top.

2. You will see a list of your games in your games library. Find PUBG to check. Right-click it and select Properties.

3. Go to the "Local Files" tab in the game's properties window.

5. Wait while Steam verifies the integrity of your game files.

Sometimes the current version of the audio drivers can cause some kind of audio conflict, in which case you need to restore the previous versions of the installed drivers. Method 13: Reinstall your audio drivers
