“We really do not see the need to add wireless charging , we’re not going to add a feature just for the sake of a tick,” said OnePlus officials when asked about OnePlus 6 . Apparently, the need to buy a wireless charger is separately considered a barrier to entry, another blow to the inclusion of this function. And, of course, the company points out the increased complexity (and price) for adding support for wireless charging.

For many, this is not a problem. Dash Charge is simply insanely fast, and you can charge your phone for a few minutes in the morning and not worry about the battery until the end of the day. In comparison, even a “fast” wireless charging is rather slow. In addition, the rear of the glass makes it easy to place the antenna, so you get a strong signal. OnePlus 6 – the first phone of the company, supporting gigabit LTE. Although OnePlus talks about how tough Gorilla Glass 5 is, the reality is that it’s more prone to serious damage than the metal backs of previous phones. And we saw the charging coils Qi, they are neither complicated nor expensive.

However, we must believe that OnePlus knows that its fans want it better than we do. In the end, Karl Pei and Pete Lau, co-founders of the company, often go to the OnePlus forums. And if feedback is too strong, the OnePlus 6T will have the option of either adding wireless charging, or changing the back of the phone until the end of the year.
